Some of the new stuff:

Decentralized tracking support makes it really nice, similar to Exeem. All the plugins are avail. via the app to install, there are some good ones in there. You can host individual chat channels for each torrent and have others connect to them. Every torrent can have ratings and you can leave comments with the rating.

i had to upgrade java to get it working again. it would not accept my portforwarding anymore.

is the search feature of exeem even effective? i don't see how torrents can be searched on the net without a central source keeping track of all of them

It works just like any decentralized p2p system... read up on it

i didn't read much but i gather that there *is* a central network keeping track of the files, and it will probably be shut down soon.. or at least saturated with fake files like fastrack is now

Exeem marks the users as trackers, afaik there is no nectral server involved. The downfall is that with less users connected you might get less files in your searches, but so far there have been a nice fat constant amount of users connected all the time. The upside is that you generally get more obscure files on Exeem than you would be able to get on seperate sites, since it's makes the tracker one as a whole.
EDIT: Azureus now supports posting magnet links at any time, which takes advantage of it's new decentralized system (aka distributed peer database). When you use the system to publish your torrent and post a link on a site you can bet your arse it will function for a long long time. :icon32:
Also, to combat fake files appearing, Exeem and Azureus support rating of the files, it shows star ratings directly by the file for fast recognition. It won't stop bad files from appearing completely but it makes it a way to combat them to a certain degree.

They won't add a search since they would prolly get into some legal troubles. Users can post magnet links and generally it does help torrents stay up a lot longer. That's not to say a plugin couldn't be made to search files with Azureus.

Hmm...
At least now you have a central tracker that keeps a record of how and what users are up/downloading. Dead torrents get reaped, fakes will be weeded out quickly and leechers get what they deserve: low speeds, if any. The
thread over at Slashdot has a few interesting posts about how this is turning BT into something similar to eDonkey.
