a friend of mine is going to be producing 2 albums (in the process of recording the tracks ATM)... so i'm inquiring about to see what the best audio mixing software is.
we need something that would pretty much qualify as a software version of a studio sound board.
Acid and soundforge are about all i've delt with personally.
but i was wondering if there is some "total package professional software" i should tell him to look into.

yeah, so far cubase definately looks like the winner... know for sure once we test drive some trials which one actually deserves financial contribution.

Pro Tools is supposed to be better than Cubase from what I hear (more costly though, I think)

damn ... you guys just illustrated another facet of why M-Audio rocks.
(when did avid buy them?)
an M-Audio firewire 410 + pro tools should work out nicely.
the 410 would double as a good replacement for the junky 4-Track he's been recording on.

thanks for the help homies.

No problem man. Any time you need us to cost you an arm and a leg again for more pro software, just give us a shout! :icon25:

If he's got access to a Mac, the Logic or Soundtrack software from Apple is pretty damn good.
