Kicks off in the wonderful city of Newport on Friday...should be quite the event.

Will anyone here be following it at all? I am off up to a Practice round on Tuesday to have a look around; I think it will be interesting and I will be sure to take a few snaps for you guys to see
I'd imagine TNF will be all over this?

what do you find so exciting about golf? (serious question)

To be honest, I have only just start playing but I enjoy the skill that it requires to play.
To hit a ball 200 yards with what is essentially a stick with a noble on the end and get it within 6 foot of a 4.25" hole consistantly is amazing, and very difficult.
If I play a sport then I can then appreciate people who are world class at that sport.

So the pics...not amazing or anything but they are what I took with a standard lense with me 350d.
This is all my shit; pass, pack & program.
This was the car park where we were to be whisked up to the Celtic Manor; you are not allowed to drive to the event. Its all done on buses. Lucky for me this is about 20 meters from my house so no driving needed
Scoreboard showing where the players currently are; updated in real time etc so you could wander to see the players you wanted to see
Miguel Angel Jimenez & Martin Kaymer on the green at the 16th
Tiger Woods about to smash one out on the par 3 7th hole. Woods landed about 4ft from the hole with his shot.
One of the American team (Hunter Mahan I think...) getting out of a bunker
Johnson & Woods in a spot of pitching practice
And again...
Just caught Woods snatcing this one about 60 yards out from the pin. Ended up about 6" away from the hole!
Woods stolling by signing stuff for the crowds.
Team USA hit over the water and getting some chipping practice in.
Stopped off at a random bar for a cheeky pint
Back of the 17th Green
Trying to work out where this dude was from...
Club House & the 18th fairway
1st tee from the peak of the 18th
PGA & Internation Pavillion as well as the stage for the opening sing song with Shirely
Jim Furyk...crazy crazy swing on that dude...
Corey Pavin having a drive around
Rickie Fowler; The next big thing (?)
Phil Mickelson - quite red due to carying his massive wallet around with him
Dustin Johnson - Looked solid throughout practice

1 day pass, the Saturday tickets are going for £150 at the moment so thats a no go for me.
Good luck in your ninja quest; I shit you not when I tell you security is tighter than an Airport there. Scanners, ticket checks, ID checks to varify your ticket and thats before you have gotten on the bus!
Bus pick up points are Llanwern, Tredegar Park & Monmouth

Interesting day today with the USA smashing some good points at the start of the day but us Euro's came back well

So the Euro's have won the first 2 games of today after a very late start due to some typical Welsh weather...
Westwood and Donald smashed Tiger & Stricker by some margin and Rory & GMc have beaten Johnson & Mahan
Singles tomorrow then so a drawn out affair for this year Ryder Cup...luckily i predicted some poor weather so booked tomorrow off some time ago so I can catch all the action

“Hunter Mahan put himself in that position today, Cink added. “He was a man on our team, to put himself in that position, all right? It's a selfish spot in the game of golf, and Hunter Mahan performed like a champ out there today. And I think it's awesome. Not many players would want to do that.”
hmm... except for the whole "winning" part of being a champ. GJ with the yankee-doodle-foot-in-the-mouth there buddy.

Well the singles went a lot better for us than I thought. Hunter Mahan in the last match? Although I see the strategy of getting the big guns out there early.
