Question for the fathers here

Did your wife/gf/mother of the kids have any particular workout routines they really liked during their pregnancy?

My wife is looking for some routines and I've got some ideas, but I wanted to see if any of you knew of a particular program that your other half thought was great during her pregnancy?

My wife is doing all of that - she loves that stuff. I just have to nod and say "ya, that one looks good" or "ya, that one looks good" or "ya, that one looks good" at whatever she shows me.

The best thing she can do is cardio, and in the third trimester doing a lot of stretches. My wife continued to jog through the whole pregnancy until she couldn't anymore. I think staying in shape is a HUGE part of the reason she has had such a great pregnancy.

Does the hospital there offer a class on baby birthing/labor? We took one of those here. It was fairly inexpensive, and we really got a lot of information on things like this -- lots of good stuff for you to know in there too as the husband. One thing they highly recommended for pregnancy was working out with an exercise ball.

As far as actual strength training, I have no idea, except no abs like MKJ said.

If your wife really is into buying all the accessories, you should get her that Baby Bargains book I posted in the other thread. She would absolutely love it.

This. When my wife was pregnant with our daughter she would run every morning as well as doing a weekend class at the gym for pregnant women. You might want to check if any local gyms have something like that going on.

^ truth about both pregnancy gym and exercise ball.
nothing but praise from the missus here.
also look into swimming classes for preggos at your local pool. apparently thats ambrosia if you're feeling 200lbs too big.

Yeah... swimming and walking is about all that's recommended for pregnants women... the only exercise they really recommend are keggle (sp?) exercises to strengthen something that does not seem to be made to fit a baby through...

My gf is doing pregnancy gym but while she enjoys it, she thinks it's a bit too "tame". She'd like to do more intensive exercises but she's not allowed. But she gets enough exercise by taking walks and bike rides as well.
