RAGE is a gorgeous game. The Xbox 360 version of id's post-apocalyptic shooter, running at 60 frames per second, stunned at a recent Bethesda event, and removed any doubts as to whether the idTech 5 engine would hold up nearly three years after the game's unveiling.
About time some news came of this - Quakecon this year should be nice

				looks good

sounds like a sandbox type of world. there'd better be plenty of scope for pissing about and exploring (and stuff worth finding)
id have 10 years of rubbish since q3 to make up for; let's hope this redeems them as something other than just tech developers

QuakeCon 2010
Total Attendance: ???
Location: Hilton Anatole, Dallas, Texas, USA.
Date to take place: August 12, 2010 - August 15, 2010
Date announced: March 5, 2010

Doom 4, according to Carmack, will have three times the graphical richness of Rage.
But when the fuck will that be, 2013 or something?
There's even more rage screenshots here, though I think we've seen some of them before.

If Rage is as open as Fallout 3, with racing thrown in the mix, I'm sold...

Me wants. From the screenshots, I wouldn't mind seeing some more vertical challenges, places with multiple floors and people shooting at me from above and below. Right now, it looks predominately flat.
More of this from this concept painting is what I mean:

You need to remember all of the outside in Rage is deformable, so the textures won't be hyper high resolution.

No its not, its static with decal overlay, standard.
Also the outdoor textures wont be in amazingly uber resolution simply because megatextures take up an amazingly large space. Its crazy they shrunk it down to two dvd's as it is.
