The prizes from the previous competition were:

* -1st Place: AMD Phenomâ„¢ II X4 965 Black Edition Processor and Sapphire Radeon HD 5850 Graphics Card
* -2nd Place: AMD Phenomâ„¢ II X4 965 Black Edition Processor and Sapphire Radeon HD 4650 Graphics Card
* -3rd Place: Sapphire Pure 950W Power Supply
*
* -Sponsored by: AMD, ATI, Sapphire, NoGhost.net and Maverick Servers
I am unsure as to whether they will be better or worse than the previous competition's, but it should give you an idea as to what prizes may be offered.

I want to ensure some of the people that were dissatisfied by the last competition that this one will be a bit more planned than the last. I'm hoping anyone who is interested in such a competition will participate.

Good luck to anyone who participates.

I really hope they set the ground rules a lot better this time and requires people to be more legit about creating _new_ levels, I'm pretty sure some of the levels in the last comp had been worked on for quiet some time...

:) Heh, you have somebody specific in mind? I can only say, that I didn't start my map before competition, it was done specific for it.

I am really amazed that ppl are still saying that a decent map can't be made in that short amount of time. I don't think I saw any map that couldn't have been made in the amount of time given for the contest. Sure, there were some huge maps, but what they made up for in space they certainly lacked in details.

Even on top of that, Maverick posted in the NoGhost Forum on Oct. 14th:

"You're welcome to start whenever you want, although the "official" start date isn't until the end of October. Announcing things early gives those people who want to start early the chance to, as well as gives me some extra time to get some lingering sponsors."

In my opinion at least, that would give anyone ample chance to create just about anything they wanted to.

@Hipshot: I was really hoping that you would submit a map. Your maps are some of the best produced for Q3. I really hope you are able to enter this new competition.

@ Shadow, I won't name any specific level or designer, I'm just saying.

@ Phantazm11, I'm pretty sure a decent level can be made within this time frame, however, for some people who work full time and so, that time is more or less reduced with some 40+h a week.

And, I'm not sure I'm gonna enter anything, depends if I can sort out a good new theme...

I'm kinda in the same boat as Skin in terms of prizes, was the same for me last time also. Thing is though I am so damned busy these days without a contest I just wont ever find a reason to actually make a map. Even without prizes I'd still be in.

How are the rules about using old textures that never got finished?

I have a old map project that I abandon a while ago but I figure it would be a cool thing to continue to work on them and create a new map with it for the competition

Thread pruned.

There's something wrong if there's this much fuckery going on in LEM than actual work. Do you people have too much free time on your hands? Learn to post in the void. To be clear, I'm saying this to a number of you who have just had a half-thread's worth of posts deleted.

I say you can do whatever you want, however, I'm gonna suggest to maverick that levels should have to be named something like mcomp2_mode-name or something... just to make it clear when and for what purpose all levels were made.

make it a rule that all levels needs to have the same pk3 name as the bsp file. I know some levels missed that in the first competition.
