all quake servers have disappeared

Dear All,
I have a comcast cable account with a network of computers inside my firewall. For weeks now, after comcast was down for an extended period of time, I get no quake servers under the multiplayer option. Where did they go? Is there someway I can get a list of IP addresses to specify explicitly? Does anyone have any idea why no master servers can be found anymore? I need to play on ESCAPED TURKEY again!
Please help. I am very sad that I can't find anyone else out there to play Quake with anymore. I am really sick and tired of nightmare robots.

well, about the time you say you started having problems...Id Software killed all q3 servers for a few reasons. I'll see if I can find the link but looks like this game is dead for good now.

try to ignore borke, he's a dickhead.
to get specific ip's you could try here:

beyond that, it's a network problem at your end. are you having trouble seeing servers for other games besides quake?

Thanks for the replies. I don't have any network issues that I can find. I can do portscans and hacks from here all day long, but I can't find any quake master servers.
Is quake 4 really cool? I have become a complete quake junkie and a new game would be out of site.

my Q3 server just pinged the master server about 10 secs ago just fine.

not trolling you dude, we have gone over this already...you came after me this time big boy. And there must be something wrong with your server, b/c John himself shut all servers down. He said so in his blog.
