U.S. confirms Zarqawi near-capture
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- U.S. troops in Iraq very nearly captured the country's most-wanted terrorist -- Abu Musab al-Zarqawi -- earlier this year, U.S. officials have confirmed.
The incident took place February 20 near Ramadi, west of Fallujah, when U.S. troops were tipped off that al-Zarqawi might be in the area.
Ok....so they
almost caught him 2 months ago. Wow. That should definately be reported today as proof of "progress" in the War On Terruh.
At one point, they chased down a suspicious vehicle and later determined that the Jordanian-born insurgent leader had been in it but had escaped.
- Said some guy who may or may not have been completely full of shit while trying to remember the minute details from a day two months prior but was too drunk on camel piss to make any type of concrete confirmation.

I'd say this is definately a justification for the Iraqi war.

do u guys seriously think zarqawi is actually alive and fighting in iraq? cmon ppl...read thru the propoganda...rumsfeld is in press conference right now and its obvious they are lying about it...everytime a reporters prods him on it he always answers with sepeculations and maybes...they never have any evidence he is even alive...not ANY in 2 years....they were talking about him 3 months before the war started so they could have their boogey man...u ppl really can't see what they are doing? u believe stuff just becuz the state dept says so? hmmm...pathetic?
