Console date, sept. 4, 2006. Got the single red light and E 74 error. Called up MS, 3-6 weeks repair or full replacement if they can't fix it. Question tho, will i be able to just go buy an arcade edition and swap my 120gb hdd onto it no problem? I'll still be sending my old one away tho.

Had it from release so I was kind of gutted to see it go. BUT my new Elite is so much quieter

decided, fuck it, went out and bought the elite lastnight, just so i could play MW2, lol. Anyways, still going to send it out, probably trade it in for a ps3 went it's returned, or sell it, whatever

it might just need the cpus cleaning off and a little thermal paste putting back on.

So I just went out and bought MW2, came home, turned the xbox on, 3 FUCKING RED LIGHTS! I'm so pissed. I knew it would happen, but it couldn't have happened at a worse time. Fucking fuck.

So if I borrowed my buddy's xbox and stuck my hdd on it while mine is being repaired, would this fuck up my Live account? You're saying they automatically transfer my account to a new xbox if they send me a new one?

Mine E-74'd on me last night as well. This is my 4th console to break down on me so I'm starting to feel like M$ can suck my nuts. It'll be two weeks before I get my console back... Can't harass DM for playing his faggy games anymore.

they transfer your DRM licenses.
you can log in on any xbox in the world with your own account, regardless of hdd or anything else.

use the recover gamertag function to redownload your accountsettings. if you'd have any achievements not yet uploaded to xbox.com you'd have to re-earn them. if your old xbox was always connected to the internet theres notihng to worry about

my elite just e74'd tonight. i also have a pro that e74'd 3 months ago, which i will be reclaiming from my kids room for a few days it took 3 days last time i sent one off.
