Masaru emoto rice experiment.

So I'm going to try this experiment at home, it's quite easy if you've never heard of it. I figured since I was trying it and going to take pics I figured an even better scientific approach to it would be to have others try it in conjunction with me to see if we get similar results.

The experiment, for those who don't know is to take 1 cup of cooked rice, put it in a two sealed jars, then write two messages and tape it to the jars, one says "thank you", the other says "you fool".

each day you take a moment to say thank you to the thank you jar and you fool to the other and after 30 days of doing this you'll notice a noticable difference in how rotten the you fool jar is compared to the thank you jar. I'll take some pics tonight of the fresh cooked rice and post them up so you get a nice before and after. :p

Have you guys ever heard of this guy's studies? He posted large posters all across a train station as a sort of art piece that showed a kind of crystalization of water that had been affected by positive thought, it was quite interesting concidering consciousness and thought is more or less a taboo type of subject, your reactions pretty much sum up my point.

I'm doing this because I'm skeptical of the claims but if you youtube this you'll see there's a lot of people that tried it and I gotta admit I find it strange.

Kracus, Emoto is considered to be a hack by the majority of the scientific community. His experiments lack fundamental aspects, and some are as major as simple controls. The only thing that keeps him on the scene is crackpot believers such as yourself. But go ahead with your little rice game...

That's my point, to see if there's any validty to his claims or not. I never said I beleive in his claims.

unfortunately your experimental design is shit. where's your control group of rice jars with no labels and no prince-charles-style chats? also, how precisely are you measuring the final states of these various jars? by looking at them?

yeesh

afaik the original test did use 3 jars (with one ignored as a control).

Hey, if YOU want to taste it I'll be happy to mail you a sample from each jar.

Direct visual observation is a valid method of measurment in this case I think. Unless of course they all look the same in which case I'd have to say masaru is full of shit.

According to masaru it isn't. I'm still on the fence.
