This is chilling!

This dumb ass in Florida has multiple snakes and kids. One of the snakes, a 12 foot burmese python, got out of the cage and into the 2 year old's crib and suffocated her.

I've always been of the opinion (from personal experience) that people who own snakes are generally dumber than the average.

A friend of mine's boa wrapped itself around his 4 year old girl and he had to stab it with a pen.

I don't even understand why anyone would want a snake as a pet.... or anything else that sits there all day and does nothing.

seremtan strangled a 2 year old with his 12cm python.

I can see having a snake as a pet, but personally if I have kids I'd limit pets to domesticated ones.

Edit: I guess pythons are considered domestic and tbh i've heard of dogs mauling kids....so I guess really I'd just not have pets that would be more likely to be aggressive to humans...

too bad it wasn't his kid genetically. anyway, i think it's BS - he killed the kid and blamed the snake.

The reason I hate snakes and people who own them:

A friend of a friend of mine once asked me if he could keep his 12 foot python at my apt. for a week while he looked for a new place. I said Fuck no. But they kept asking me, reassuring me it would be cool...no problem. the guy shows up at my apt with this huge "tank" he built for it... then he pulls out this rat the size of a kitten from his army jacket pocket and drops it in the tank. He says dont' worry, he'll eat the rat in a few days and he'll be fine. Fucking guy disappears for over a week. I tell my buddy I dont want this fuckng snake in my house anymore. and it still hasnt eaten the rat. and the rat is scratching around in the tank keeping me awake. So I go and stay at my GF's house for a few days... I come back to my apt 3 days later to grab some cloths...open the door. And the Fucking snake is out of its tank...sitting on top of one of my speakers. and pops it head up and opens it mouth and hisses at me. I can see it has HUGE chunks of it missing from all over its body...I can see its fucking spine in some places. turns out the RAT started eating the snake. I slammed the door...tried to get a hold of my friend... no answer at his place or his phone. same with his fuckign idiot pal who owned the snake. I tried calling them for a week.....nothing. I came back a week later. the snake was dead. I put it in a garbage bag and left it on the back porch. But I still couldnt find the rat. It was somewhere in the apt. I could hear it crawling around behind the walls...I would wake up in the mornign and find shit all chewed up in the apt. So I stayed up all night one night.. left some hotdogs on the kitchen floor... When the rat came out to eat them.. I slammed a milk crate over top of it. Slid an album underneath it. Took if out side and whipped it across the street where it hit a parked car. the rat ran away.
Buddy came back 2 weeks later with a bunch of my friends... I showed them the snake carcass that was stinking up my porch and told them the whole story. He accused me of killing his snake. I told him to fuck off. He said I owed him 200$ for a new snake. I lost it.... I screamed at him. Look you Cunt...you ever talk to me again I'll fucking kill you like I killed your fucking snake.
I'll never forget the look on his face when I said that, and I instantly regretted it. but I was really mad.

Most of my friends stopped talking to me after that day.

LOL Jules.... That was back in my early 20's. No cell phones with digi cam...So no photos. believe me, the last thing I wanted to do was take a photo of any of it. It was a fucking nightmare.
I gotta admit, I'm kinda surprised that I'd forgotten about all that. This post just made it all flood back.
It was weird typing it all out. Kinda cathartic really.





Funny thing , after all that happened. I decided to move out of that apt. I did a " midnight move" cuz my land lord was cunt. As I was loading the last of my large furniture into a truck. My landlord came walking by at 1 am. He gave me this funny look.. I told him I was just selling a few things. I Hopped in the truck and took off. when I got back... there were pad locks on the doors. I came back a day later...and he said he threw out all the rest of my stuff. A week later...I was walking down town, and there was a street person with a shopping cart full of stuff with a card board sign on it that said "for sale" I walked up to check out what he had, and it was full of all my stuff from the apt. I bought back my Polaroid camera, my pots and pans and 2 pairs of my 2 tone vans from him for 5 bucks.
I went to a party a few weeks after all that...and I was talking to a girl who then all of a sudden asked asked me if I had heard about that guy around here who got locked out of his apt. and then ended up buying his stuff off a bum downtown. I didnt tell her it was me.

Sounds pretty pussy to me;

First you can't say "no" to your snake-imposing 'friend', and then hide at your gf's place for 3 days.
Then you run away from the rat-eats-snake 'situation' for a fucking week. *ooh, maybe it will sort itself out, but let's make some hilarious star wars pics in the mean time, while i ignore what's going on in my apartment*.
And then you spaz out on your friends, even though they're justifiably frustrated by your ineptitude to handle the situation.

you raise a fair point. after you saw the snake sitting on your speaker injured, why leave for a week

guys u dont' get it - it's like in those horror stories where the protagonist just lets the problem grow and grow and it becomes more and more horrifying.

Also, if it's all true, i'm gonna side with Plan B on the calling you a conflict avoiding inept weasel. That's ok though, Palahniuk's protagonists are always flawed too. It adds to the story.
