I've tried my friend's Westone 3's today, and holy fuck was I blown away. They sound AMAAAAAAAZINGGG!!! I currently have Shure E4c's which I've been using for about 3 years, and Westone sound better, by far! I would say that the difference is as large as between my E4c's and the stock Zune headphones. The soundstage is noticeably wider and the three drivers make a very noticeable difference. They really do sound orgasmic.

I've been looking at the Shure SE530, but after reading some reviews and trying the Westone's, I have to say that they're definitely my next earphone buy. For anyone here who cares about sound quality and doesn't mind buying hi-end universal fit IEM's, the Westone 3 is my recommendation.

They look like a fucking spaceship (size wise, too), plus at 300 ohm impedance, I wouldn't exactly call them portable However, I do want them!!! $1400 though, I have to wait until I graduate and find a real job though

both my E4c and the Westone 3 that I want are in-ear monitors, so thats why I call them earphones. They aren't exactly earbuds tho: http://www.westone.com/content/264.html
