brightness

Hello
I have a new install of Quake 3 -
it works well but the screen is too dark.
If i change brightness in options the screen
is still too dark.
Can i change this in the autoexec.cfg,
eg which parameter should be changed?=

Try like 1.7
2 will probably be too much.

Tx for suggestions. i have tried both but i get no effect.
The screen is still dark...
Any more ideas?

What version are you running? Update to 1.32 then 1.32c if needed.

Put these in your autoexec.cfg with notepad or create and edit a new text file and rename it autoexec.cfg. place in your baseq3 folder.
seta r_ignorehwgamma "1"
seta r_gamma "3"
use 1-3 one is darkest 3 is brightest.
