Why does BitTorrent not work correctly even with ports open

I use a Linksys BEFSR41. I opened ports 6881 througg 6999 for my client. I don't have WinXP SP2 and so no sign of a Windows firewall.

Yet, I still get the yellow instead of green light *always*.

Also, today I was on a torrent with only 1 other peer (an additional peer kept getting lost a few seconds after being found). The 1 peer was downloading at 120k/s even though I was only sharing 10 k/s and there were no seeds.

WTF is going on?

Make sure you have the ports open on UDP and TCP and no external firewalls are blocking it, ie on your computer or on the router.
