Does anyone have a bad feeling about this year? Trust me, I'm no geoof, but I think there may be something significant about this year. Too many prophets have forseen something about this year. Not to mention the Mayan calendar. There is supposedly a chance of a major pole shift sometime that year. I also read today that thousands of Dutch people are preparing for 2012 by stocking up on supplies. I know that doesn't say much (cause their Dutch), but its still noteworthy. Does anyone else have a strange feeling about 2012, in a non geoof kind of way...

No, because the calendar year is meaningless in the big picture.

And people have been predicting major things happening during specific years for centuries. Keep guessing enough and you are bound to hit on something. If anything does happen in 2012 you can be quite certain all the 'prophets' just made a lucky guess.

I'm interested in ancient civilizations so I read quite a bit about the Mayan doomsday and Xibalba's connection to netherworld gates. December 21st bitches...

I read somewhere that all the major media companies plan to consolidate the internet by 2012, and begin charging for 'packages' that only allow you to visit certain websites.

But I'm not sure how true that is, and that's the only thing I've heard about the year 2012.

This is interesting.... the pizza delivery person came to my door and i recognized her and she of course recognized me because of a certain two weeks that i ordered papa johns pizza every single night... but i digress.
This time, she says 'oh i see you have a map of the stars on the wall, are you into astronomy?' (no i just like the pretty colors)
Then she asks 'what do you know about Nibiru?'
I say nothing really, how is it spelled, what does it entail?
