extracting from .utx-dirs

Simple as it is: how do I get texture-files out of .utx-formatted directories so I can use them for quake 3 level editing?
If that has anything to do with it, I own a 3.0 version of the UnrealED (in which I managed to get a look on the textures but wasn't able to extract them since I never worked with the UnrealED).

Here you go UT Package Tool.
But be careful with the use of textures under the license of epic, or other copyrights.
You are only allowed to use 3rd party textures.

Have Fun.

Slight correction... 3rd party non-commercial textures observing the original artists requests (some may request credit only, others may restrict use all together).

you can right-click on the texture in the UEd texture browser and export them that way, one at a time

just bear in mind that they're often way too big for Q3 (last time i checked Q3 can't handle anything larger than 768^2 while many unreal textures are 1024^2 or even 2048^2 in some cases)

Depends on the video card, but the official max is 256x256.

It'll handle larger texture sizes, it's just that on some older cards, it will try to down sample them. Basically, it's a video card limit, it will do the same with Unreal. It's not very likely that anyone today will be running such an old card. We're talking TNT2, GeForce 2 series.

Thanks to all of you especially seremtan, works great that way. Copyright and legal stuff poses no problem this time since the textures I was talking about are free for the community (nothing from the original game).

By the way: does anyone know of a programme (GUI preferred) that can open and convert .TEX - textures? (These are used in Serious Sam.)
