Awsome fucking game. me and some friends have been playing the coop too and it's ok... It's not nearly as much fun as I had hoped. Unfortunately I haven't been able to make it past the second level in the game cause my memory card sucks and doesn't have enough space to save a game. 63 blocks!
Anyway, WTF do you have to do in the second one? I bug all the crates and assassinate that hugo dude and it won't let me extract. :icon33:

I thought this was a discussion about quantum physics.

There's a lifeboat at the back of the ship.
That's where you've got to extract from.

Yeah I get there but it says I need to finish someshit. I know I have every crate bugged and I killed hugo so wtf?

The crate bugging isn't important and doesn't contribute to the mission percentage. It's just an "Opportunity Objective".
By Hugo, do you mean La Cerda?
I've forgotten his first name.
La Cerda's the guy who's gotta die.
He's guarded by 2 mercenary types in the Captain's Quarters.
Have you checked your OpSat for incomplete objectives?

No I can't figure out how to check my opsat on the gamecube tbh... Either way I know I killed Hugo but it wouldn't let me go (and his two guards)

Find out how to activate the OpSat; hell, RTFM.
It's got a very handy 3D map that highlights your next objective.

I know she says somethign about a crate that's marked in a room but I scoured the whole room and didn't find shit.... I'm thinking maybe there's a computer I migth have to access? I'm pretty sure I accessed all of em tho.

Oh yeah? Hmmm that'd be helpful I suppose
Fucked if I know how to get it open though

I've pressed pretty much every button, must be a combo or somethin

Aaaah, I know that crate.
You know the crate room that when you exit, there are 2 guys going up and down the corridor outside? The corridor that you can also get underneath?
Well in that room, on the top of the other crates, there's one that's semi-open, and you've got to examine the shipping label.

Hmmm yeah is it the room with the water on the floor or the one before that?

I think it's the one with the water on the floor. Anyway, if it isn't, it's one of those 2 rooms anyway.

yeah I think it's the one with the water myself, I searched and searched all night and couldn't find shit in that place... I'll look harder tonight when I get home.

Just finished it. Y'know how the plots in Splinter Cell games are always kinda like the plots in MGS games, only slightly less thoroughly insane and the characters have names that don't make you spit coffee all over the controller the first time you see them? Well, there's a bit of the MGS2 to the later parts of Chaos Theory, just in the way that the plot suddenly develops so many kinks that it gets totally bent.
If you've played the previous Splinter Cells, it's still Too Damn Easy, especially since you can now just lamp people if they catch you sneaking up on them; and you don't get to do enough Cool Stuff. But the first time I cut my way in through the back of a tent, I had a big stupid smile on my face.
I guess my main problem with the whole Splinter Cell thing, though, is that I'm a big fan of ghosting in Thief (although I've never been able to play the museum level without getting so frustrated that I unleash my pent-up rage and turn it into a bloodbath), and I always feel a bit cheap taking out all the bad guys in a level.
I'd love to see it on a HD TV, though.

try to get 100% on elite and tell us how easy it is
completing a mission isnt all that hard. getting a high percentage is.
also, its a very cool idea to complete a mission without anyone
ever knowing you were there

Yeah, that's the way I play thief (what's a fire arrow again?). The problem is that if you never get to have fun with the cool toys and moves in Splinter Cell if you play it that way.

Yep, that's what ghosting is. Damn, I really need to get my ass on playing the Splinter Cell games.

i enjoy hacking and lockpicking more than knocking people out, actually.
fraggrenades? please.

It's bastard hard to get a high percentage on some levels at expert, even harder if you're ghosting (which for the most part IS possible this time round).
I replayed the first level yesterday and completely ghosted it aside from killing the guy at the end (which you have to anyway). Scored 98%, which I believe is the maximum for that level.
After ghosting the levels, I'm going to play through doing a "Cool Stuff" route, like dragging people off of ledges from below, snapping necks from above, that kinda thing, just to see how often those opportunities arise.
Edit: There was a really handy thread over on the Ubi forums, listing the levels and the maximum percentages possible whilst ghosting, but for the life of me I can't find it now.
Some industrious peeps had even recorded movies of them ghosting the levels.

i read about people getting 100% on the first mission.. although i cant imagina how one would get the lighthouse guard away far enough to get the chopper to come pick you up..

i'd recommend Chaos Theory. its like a uberpolished version of the first.
the first is quite cool but has a few annoyances that needed ironing out - hidden checkpoints in the level that check if theres a body *anywhere* exposed. even if you kill every one in the map, the alarm will stilll go off cause theres a foot somewhere sticking out into the light.
and most of the time, 3 alarms and the missions over

Ahh, that's because in the Demo, sticky cam gas knockouts (I think it was them; may have been shockers) didn't detract from your percentage.
This is fixed in the final game.

I'm normally quite a pacifist, and the first time I played the first level I didn't realise the controls had changed and ended up knifing the first guy I caught and throwing him down a cliff
It's a bit silly to implement a scoring system which penalizes you for playing the game in styles which they've put all over the trailers, though :/
