I've been trying to get rid of the car for a while now. The fun has faded and now it's time to get back to my real favorite big 4 door practical cars. I admit it's fun as hell ripping around at ludicrous speeds, ripping up my local neighborhood ricers, but as an every day car it just doesn't cut it for me. I prefer to drive my Caddy.
It's no longer practical to pay $700+ a month for a car+insurance+gas and only want to drive it recreationally. Hopefully 2 hours from now I’ll be coming home with something new. I’m just wondering why I’m not as psyched as I though I would be about getting rid of her.

welp, the 350Z is all gone, didn't take much af a beating, but for some reason something doesn't seem right. I went to a car dealer and things went in my favor?
What I owed (my buy-out) for the 350Z was $23,000
Sticker price on the new car was $25,500
Invoice price on the new car (edmunds and N.A.D.A) $22,500
They started out saying they would give me $15,000 for the 350Z
and add the $8,000 to the invoice price of the new car. LOL
In terms would be $549,00 a month with $3,000 down
1 hour later it was a little better but still not worth it so I told him I'd get rid of the 350Z on my own and I got up to leave. That's when the big guns came out.
1 more hour I'm down to total of $22,900 out the door
Buy-out for the 350Z
+ car
+ Taxes
+ title
+ options
+ Dest Fees
+GAP insurance
- a shitload of rebates
So all in all I am now saving
$100.00 a month in car payments
$100.00+ a month in insurance payments
and I gain $4500.00 for the sale of my cadillac in a few weeks

Going from the MX-3 to an auto civic has made me a bit sad, but its nothing. The civic not much slower in the city, but it's seriously lacking on the highway. I used to do some 160-180 bypasses on the highway on my way to school, I can forget about that with the civic. Its a much more practical daily driver though.

Why is that funny? You can't see why someone wouldn't want to shift every 5 seconds?

not many cars that i would use with an automatic. a civic would certainly not be one of them.

In Belgium the average price for a second hand 350Z is €30000 ($45,200). :icon33:

I went to the only dealer despirate enough to eat my lease and still give me a car for invoice price. Hyundai I picked up a fully loaded XG350 (yup another 350). I learned one thing with the 350Z Nice cars are good for a while, but eventually it fades and then it becomes just like any other car... So I got me a poor mans Jaguar. Leather seat, wood grain interior, really comfy. A decent 3.5 liter V6 nice and peppy. I got what I wanted for alot less, and got rid of the Z to boot.

that's as ugly as an american design.

I really dont care about the looks anymore, IMO it's not ugly, but not an eye turner either it blends in so to speak.. It's got the pickup and the comfy interior I want, the rest is just fluff with an awesome warantee.

neither can I, but it was my decision, I want to have a few kids soon, so cutting a few corners will help. The 350Z was nice and fun, but I find myself leaving it in the driveway and taking My cadillac to work instead, That's when I realized it's time to work this out. Paying the same as my rent for a car and not driving it was rediculas.
