soap, i don't expect someone who works in a casino to understand the intricacies of working in a multicultural corporation, but thanks anyway.
then why didn't you reply with the same answer mazda did?SOAPboy wrote:

You have zero room to talk, you change toner.
Windows Update on VISTA checks for driver and firmware updates for your PC components, cool huh?Doombrain wrote:for gathering all the information and data on a PC. so installed components, versions, software, drivers etc?
If I remember correctly, Win98 and XP did that too, but for only a limited set of drivers and they were usually older than the newest releases.Turbine wrote:Windows Update on VISTA checks for driver and firmware updates for your PC components, cool huh?Doombrain wrote:for gathering all the information and data on a PC. so installed components, versions, software, drivers etc?

And i said it's for a bit of hardware that's over 9000 miles away from the person that needs it. Way to understand, network admin.SOAPboy wrote:
I asked a question before i answered smart guy. And if you read my reply. Youll see "BEAT" in there. Way to read toner boy.

You know, it's crazy, but that scenario sounds very probable. I mean, it could actually happen! I will disagree with you, though. I don't think regedit is the best solution. I know I'm going against SOAPboy's expert advice here, but I guess I'm just crazy like that.creep wrote:Hypothetical situation:
You work for a decent sized company, designing hardware solutions to use on desktop PCs. Your product will need to run on 3000 PCs, with various software/hardware configurations. You want to test for any major compatibility roadblocks, so you want a good amount of data about your target PCs.
You're probably right, SOAP. Going around looking at "regedit" is the best bet.

As was I. I was doing the double sarcasm maneuver! Also, a barrel roll.Captain Mazda wrote:
