For some reason I stumbled on the homepage and totally forgot how freaking awesome the theme was

it's good, but no wai

- 'the ship' map music from CoD
- all the classic quake soundtrack
- parts of HL2

Unreal Tournament, Q3, Rocket Arena 3, Deus Ex and System Shock.

Though they're meaningless without the game, and vice versa.

oh and rollcage was pretty good too.

the hitman series always has catchy tunes, original might they be or not

Shadow of the Colossus

Shadow of the Colossus is pretty good, but the winner is Final Fantasy VI (FFIII US)

I would also go with the obvious "Guitar Hero!!!" except there are too many shitty songs on there, too.

Battlefield 2142 has amazing music, courtesy of Hans Zimmer. Transformers game had some brilliant orchestral music as well.

if we're talking original soundtracks then i'd have to go with marble madness, gyruss (the nes version) and the sonic series. sonic 3 had some of the greatest music ever. i used to get to that snow zone and just let it sit there and play.

otherwise games like wipeout, extreme G 3 and the ssx series had some pretty bitchin tracks.

edit: and super metroid has one of the best atmospheric soundtracks i've ever heard.
double edit: and the best rpg music has to be secret of mana.

Mechwarrior 2 and Ghost Bear's Legacy. Made the game 10X more immersive + boner.

Because MTV really knows WTF it's talking about when it comes to video games.

The Elder Scrolls series, the first Knights of the Old Republic, and Deus Ex come to mind, in terms of original, atmospheric music. There are probably more I like, but my brain is a tad fried

All of Activision's music back in the MechWarrior 2 era was top notch shit.

I thought I played a bunch of games when I was younger, but most of the titles you guys mention I have never played in my life.

Btw, World of Warcraft has amazing orchestral music too, gotta hand it to them.

Music in MGS2 was pretty good (unlike the game)

Catchiest game music ever was in Bubble Bobble; although the music from the first level of Castlevania on the gameboy is still stuck in my head after about 15 years...
