what's a good tv for $1,000?

i'm sick of watching my shitty old tv and want to get a flat screen/plasma/hd tv. is there a decent one around $1,000? or should i spend more?

You may be better off with a nice 720p set instead of shitty 1080i set with that price range.

got a costco around your area? if so go there and buy a vizio. my friend has their 37" lcd and the thing rocks.

i don't unfortunately. well it turns out the remote was what was making the menu pop up all the time. took the batteries out and huzzah, she works :up:

there is a big thread at the [H]ardforums around 1000 new but you can pick up a nice refurb around 599 at onsale.com comes in 42" also.

i ended up getting a 40'' Samsung 720p for $1400. it's a great tv and my 360 looks killer on it
