The author of the Wheel of Time series. He contributed some great work to the fantasy genre, as well as some great Conan writing and American history fiction.
RIP.

btw, the last I heard he was trying hard to finish the last book of the series before he died. I'm not sure where he left it or what, if any of it will be released.

Man, my wife is a RABID fan of the Wheel of Time books, and I've been taunting her with the possibility of Jordan dying for the last couple years. She's going to be soooooo pissed.

hmm, should I ever start to read that series? I still have Sword of Shannara/Heritage of Shannara to finish as well as Song of Ice and Fire.
Jordan's stuff just seems to go on and on and on and...
RIP anyhoo.

I read the first 3 or 4 books, then I just got a bit tired of how long things drug on and on as was mentioned already. From what I heard from people reading the books, a couple of his latest books were like reading 1,500 pages of stuff and realizing that the plot didn't get advanced at all...
But I can see some of those hardcore fans being real bummed out. My wife is a librarian and says the series is real popular still.

RIP Jordan
I hope that his final book gets released still. It would be a fitting finish to his life's work to wrap up that fantasy epic.
