What's wrong with it? It took me a while to get used to the GUI but I've found it good so far.

The only thing I like in Vista is the new GUI, I like it, it is smooth, it's got curves. It's nice. WinXP seems to "paper like" I guess "to flat" XP lacks that "umph" in the GUI.

Or can just turn that stuff off?

Don't get me wrong, I like Vista and I probably couldn’t bare going back to XP.

However, until I found out how to turn off most of the annoying and useless stuff, it got really, really annoying.

One of the single most annoying aspects I had to turn off, was the memory overwrite protection “feature”. It wouldn’t let me run game trainers, and aim bots as they used the game’s memory address. And this was a bitch to get rid off, as it wouldn’t shut itself off, so I had to do it trough the command prompt.

Every Windows system has its stress out period, where you learn to get rid of the shit design decisions, and keep the good parts.

Turning off the annoying permissions is relatively easy. And there's a compatibility patch available and should soon be on autoupdate.

Been using Vista since January, works great. Took a week or two to get used to stuff.

I'm one of those computer users that doesn't know the first thing about computers so my opinion on this is probably worthless, but Vista has been good to me. I really like it.
