Since you all been brainwashed to belive that English isent the #1 communications language in the world..and that you actually need it almost everywhere and everyday, i just have to ask a question..

You dub(we call it dub in sweden, where you add your language for all the voices) movies and games.. so you probably never heard Mel gibsons or Tom hanks real voice, but some local old farts voice that do the dubbing.. and here is my question, how come you dont dub the music?

No joke.. some of you may laugh and say "what a moron, you cant do voice overs/dubs for music".. but isent it moronic to do dubs/voice overs for movies and games?

On a side note*
It really pisses me off when a German tourist walks up to me in town and asks for directions in german, without even saying "Excuse me but do you speak German?".. when they do that i just point randomly at an direction and speak Swedish.. so they just stand there going "Huh?" and im just waving good bye.
Im sorry.. i just cant take nonchalant/Naive foreigners.

man i hate dubbing. if you do that, you could just as well remake the enitre fucking movie with homeland actors :icon27:

Actually, in France and Italy they do make remakes of music. Something to do with radio/TV stations not being allowed by law to play more than a certain percentage of non domestic music.

A pet peeve of mine is the dubbing of english ads INTO ENGLISH!
Ads that are obviously from yank land are dubbed here into either english english, or even worse, irish english.
Fucking glade, colgate and all beauty products do this.
AND THAT SHITE COKE AD! The one with the turtle that has a diet coke strapped to its back doing xtreme to the radical max stuff, it was dubbed into a normal british accent, then into a retarded irish accent.

'I got a diet coke strapped to my back because I love life'

Watching Married Wih Children dubbed into german, with Peg having a gravelly male voice, is almost as funny as watching the show proper.

i agree with the german hobos
i get that here in amsterdam a lot too. and while it might be more reasonable to talk german to a dutcho (because its kinda the same, at leastt when it comes to words, and because dutchos learn german in school), its still fucking rude to do so.
learn an international language, homo.

in dutcheeland, only cartoons get dubbed, and even then not always. we subtitle everything. great way to learn foreign languages, prolly the reason almost every dutchee speaks at least 1 foreign language :icon14:

totally agree, plus people forget that a lot of the acting is in the voice too. so if you dub, the quality of the entire movie/show goes down a whole lot.

Hearing some german dude voicing Darth Vader instead of James Earl Jones would be pretty bad I guess.

That is actually one of the better voice dubs.

I don't know any real French people (from France) but I have allot of frenchspeaking friends (Belgium has 3 main languages btw) and one of them actually like the french voice of Robert de Niro. I told him that he really, really should start watching movies in their original language with subtitles, but he doesn't like it, because he's simply not used to read subtitles.

When I asked a couple of other friends, they told me the same thing, they are so used in watching dubbed movies that they rarely watch a movie with the original language exept for in the theatres where movies have both dutch and french subtitles.

The trend is starting to chance a bit tho over here in Belgium, but I guess real Frenchies won't ever see a non-dubbed movie.
