World's fastest bird

Okay, so I knew that the Peregrine Falcon was the fastest bird in the world and that it did some crazy fast diving, but I've never actually seen their stoop. I came across
this video and it just blew me away.
Apparently these little fuckers pull up to 25 G's when they're diving at 200+ mph.
Oh, and I also learned that Hayabusa is their Japanese name. I never made the connection between the bike and the bird.
And for some carnage:

The duck twitching at the end only added to this bird's awesomeness.

Heh. I remember learning when I was a kid that the Spine Tailed Swift was the fastest flying bid in the world able to maintain a flight speed of 106 mph and I also remember learning that the Peregrine Falcon could get above 200 mph durring a dive, but I never stopped to put the two together to realise that the Peregrine Falcon gets WAY more speed durring a dive. Cool :icon14:

Well honestly when you are only about 1 lbs. and have a strong bone structure you can take 25 lbs. of pressure.
Alot like an ant being able to be unharmed by a 200 ft. fall.

Amazing bird, damn, we still have a lot of things to learn from nature.

Once an ant gets above several feet, I suppose heigh stops being a factor. WTF is the terminal velocity of an ant, anyway? :icon26:

by Fender
It looks like terminal velocity for small, lightweight objects approaches about 30 ft/sec.

Speaking of birds, in euroland there are reports of starved vultures attacking people and cattle... it's all very unsetteling. Not the vultures, more the fact that i never expected to read a headline like that.
