Theories are now circulating everywhere that are unusual, whimsical and not at all serious. There are even "experts" who believe that the water's disappearance could have been the result of "UFO suction"
welp, there goes that idea.

Another theory - perhaps the most respectable - indicates that a huge crack caused the southern lake to empty its contents in a mater of water, allowing water to flow "to the center of the Earth", according to Chilean newspaper Las Ultimas Noticias.

It could have been that mile long UFO that was spotted here recently. Interesting...

Isn't Chile pretty much sitting on a fault line? =\
Even if it isn't, the place could be like another Yellowstone, with an unstable crust gliding over magma that causes cracks in the crust. At one point in Yellowstone, a lake there was said to have raised by 3 feet on one side over several years, dumping water over the other side like picking up the edge of a kiddy pool. Of course it was so gradual that people thought some unknown force was pushing the water out, since they weren't able to tell that the ground was moving.
What's telling here, is that they start crying that UFOs are responsible, BEFORE getting scientific/geological opinions on the matter.
Go sit on Old Faithful for a few years, Geoof -- I promise you'll see aliens.

If they have the capacity to take our water already, why wouldn't they just do it straight away on the large scale instead of just one lake in Chile? And I'm guessing they would be able to desalinate water as well - assuming they needed it - so why not just start sucking up the oceans? Could the UFOs be melting the icecaps to turn more our water into liquid form so it is easier for them to harvest? And if Evian water really comes from a small bubbling brook in the french alps, how in the hell can they bottle enough of it to distribute the world over in such large amounts? That last question has nothing to do with the aliens.
