Hi, I am completly new to the world of level editing and computers in general and am wondering how I go about manually copying "\main" wolfenstein game directory into the c:/program files/wolf directory. Have enjoyed playing RTCW and would like to learn how to use the Wolfradiant thingy that came with it.

I don't understand your question about copying the folder, but if you want to start creating maps for RTCW you should maybe get an up2date version of Radiant and the Wolf example maps from > zerowing <.

First rule of mapping for RTCW is do not use wolfradiant, it will be painfull.
Use GtkRadiant, you'll find a link to it in the sticky's here.

This just gets sadder and sadder. What's a sticky? Thanks.

Heh. No worries. He's referring to the "sticky" threads at the top of the forum page that contain basic useful info and FAQs (frequently-asked questions). The threads are called that because they stay at the top, rather than moving around like other threads, based on new posts.

This (<-- Link) is the thread you want. Note that while the thread primarily refers to Q3 editing, the same editor is used for RTCW and most of the same concepts apply.

A couple of notes about the resource sticky thread... qeradiant.com is undergoing major changes, so links are currently dead. Shaderlab.com has been down for a while now too.

So here are some direct links to the programs you need to get started...

Nightly build of GtkRadiant 1.5.0. Be sure to get the necessary game pack as well (Wolf Example Maps)

GtkRadiant 1.4.0 Some people may prefer the older version.

Q3Map2 It comes with both builds of GtkRadiant listed above, but should you need the stand alone version for whatever reason with extra editor files, it's available here.
