It helps to read stickies in the correct forum.

Even looking at the "stickies" is not helping Me , everything I click on is a dead link and I still cannot access the server. I even downloaded Xfire and could not figure out the correct way to use it even after reading the FAQ's on it. Help anyone?
No response from master server

One of the stickies said that the servers were clunky and often go down (why they dont fix this i dont know). This is not a software problem nor an internet connection problem, they are just recycling servers.

So there are times when there is nobody that can get on? I don't have to download anything to fix this, just wait?

Thanks, that's very helpful , yet I still can't join. For some reason whenever I run Quake I can't do anything else on My computer besides play it, so how am I supposed to go from Quake to ASE? Besides ctrl+alt+delete and alt+tab to switch ( I have tried these ) what else can I do? Another question is, how long does the ASE trial last?

if you read the manual, you'd know that you actually start q3 from within ASE.

Don't start up quake. Browse the servers after you have it set up the way you like. When you find one you want to try, select it and join. ASE will start up quake for you. I've been using the ASE trial for a few years now. Just keep clicking the try for 7 more days or whatever.

Thanks for all the help but one more thing, When I try to "Connect As Player" I get a message saying "Couldn't execute program. Go to View- > Option- > Games to configure this game." I went to view and there is no options tab . . .

It's under tools not view.

If you still cannot connect to any server via Quake3, make sure your firewall/s is allowing Quake3 access to the internet.

Thanks, I configured it and now the only thing stopping Me from playing is the load time, any suggestions?
Posted: Fri Mar 30, 2007 6:57 pm

More info please. What load time are you talking about specifically? Make sure you are trying to join a server that uses the same point release as you and that you have any mods they may be running. You can filter all of that with ASE to only show the servers with your setup.

When it says Connecting to / Press ESC to abort / and Awaiting Connection . . . I'm waiting for awhile just to get frustrated and leave.

You probably don't have the mod or map or both. Do you have any mods installed?
Posted: Fri Mar 30, 2007 7:36 pm
by GXLIVE
None that I have installed. If it helps, I'm only working off of the Q3A Demo right now, haven't got the whole thing yet.

Then get the whole thing...you an find it at most game shops for about $10.
