Sucks. I'm not paying for a new 360 now, but I also wish I'd waited out for this. :E

If it ships w/ 120 GB HD and built in HD-DVD for $400, I will have one.

this makes the initial release of the 360 seem a bit rushed. "lets add a bunch of functionality to a year old console and fuck early adopters harder than usual!"

although, i never even filled up my original xbox's drive. seeing as i wont be downloading HD movies I dont think the current 20gb will be a problem

An unrelated article at Ars Technica says that MS won't add an internal HD-DVD drive... we'll see.

I was more intrigued with the HD DVD drive as a piece of hardware. I asked if we would ever see games use the drive. A firm "no." I asked if we would ever see a 360 with an HD DVD drive built-in. Another firm "no." No hesitation.

"We don't want to charge customers $200 extra for something that may be the next Betamax," Henson told me (whoops).

It would be nicer if it was trimmed up a bit... reduced in size. No matter, I may actually buy one now.

In terms of functionality though, what does this have that the original Xbox 360 doesn't? Is that belching cunt flap odium going to complain about not having full 1080p support or some shit like that?

Posted: Fri Jan 05, 2007 11:32 pm
by Doombrain
that's al it is. it'll offer full 1080p hd dvd. maybe they'll be something added later on

The games might actually run better on the more 'efficient' nm design? Eh who the fuck knows, just wishful thinking.

Well you may not have to worry about ventilation as much, which is nice because consoles ought not be so fickle. Perhaps they also sorted out the drive issues as well.
