What I'm finding so far is suggestions to redownload and try reinstalling again. In one instance a guy got it to working by setting his system to 16 bit colors. I'm still looking though, there's bound to be a better solution somewhere.
Current drivers for your vidcard?

No it shouldn't be anything to do with that. It's an OpenGl error best I can tell.
On those, if you're only going to map for one game you should probably check 'autoload selected game on startup'. Only use networked install if there are going to be more than one user account using radiant. Logging console might be a good idea for catching errors when they occur.

That should read "glXMakeCurrent", BTW.

That's the kind of thing I'm finding. But no real solution. I guess some have to switch to 16 or 24 bit while others to 32 bit.

so basically, i should try running it in 32 bit mode and if that doesnt work try the other modes... thanx for the help guys, i'll get back to ya to tell you if it worked or not

Yeah, the starting q3a mapping sticky at the top of the thread list. Should be just about everything you'll need in there.
edit: Oops, switched hard drives and forgot this was the default account on that one.
