Hello my friends.

Thanks for the great pictures.

What has pushed me to post this, is after reading the toilet thing without light.

It reminded me of that time living on the 9th floor of an apartments building at that time in 1998, with a view on Montreal. We didn’t have electricity for 4 days. Taking cold showers at candle light and ordering Pizza, because they use natural gas and managed to use generator for the other facilities. But there were no 30 mnts or free and I remember waiting for 2 ½ hours for it.

Also from my place, at night looking over Montreal, everything was just dark. Not one building or street light, almost scary.

On the first floor of my building and across ( it was relied to the metro station by a tunnel ) The usual boulangerie start selling batteries, all in a perfect place for you to see on the counter. Usually sold at 2$ for a twin pack…Where selling at 4$ each.

All generators where sold out and we heard of many stealing of them on the news.

In remote areas, some places didn’t get the electricity back before 3 months.

i wasn't far from that at the time of the eruption.

well Port Orchard, WA, but had a killer view of that and Rainier at the same shot. Rainier was at the foreground and St. Helens just to the right in the background looking just like the above pic. me and my brother were riding our bikes to go up to the school to shoot some hoops. ah, memories.
