As far as I’m concerned, AMD is all that’s wrong with the world.

So memory latency is actually higher with the new chipset? Why would they let it out the door that way?

Intel as a monopoly isn't a good thing for consumers. Same thing with nVidia.
As long as these companies are equally competitive, they will continue to drive prices down and increase performance.
So I hope AMD/ATI can pull through with something equally competitive.

I'm still running an AMD T-Bird 1Ghz... I need to upgrade. Surprisingly, though, my system still runs faster in some areas than a lot of my buddies who have upteen million mhz of power. That's probably because I know how to optimize my machine and turn off all the bullshit that windows deems necessary.
EDIT: spleeling.

I agree with obsidian, but I am somewhat happy to see Intel be so good at gaming. I'm sure it will be a pendulum that will swing in AMDs favor eventually.
