that hbo movie about rawanda... yeah, not a feel good sort of movie.
just watched it, makes you feel pretty shit about all humanity.
they do a good job of having "characters" that you can follow through the tragety, but at the same time its really not about them. or about how they survived, which is where it does a much better job than any of the hollocaust movies i've seen.
you really get the feeling that the film is about everyone.
and amazingly, its very powerful and emotional without being violent.
highly recomended...

i'm going to have to check out hotel rawanda to see how it compares.
i have a felling though that will be more of a 'hollywood holocaust style' movie, where they show one guy's struggle, rather than trying to show 'the big picture'

I planned on going to see it in the cinema yesterday, but my parents didn't feel like seeing a depressing movie. So we went to two IMAX movies instead.

I just don't have HBO. I thought you were a poor college student doc - you get HBO free or something?

free promo. (Hbo + Cinemax free for 3 months & 19.95 for cable internet.)
i quit and then re-sign up with cable every few months to keep taking advantage of promo rates.

hotel rwanda is extremely powerful. follows the real life tale of how one man basically saved the lives of 1400 or so tutsies by holding them in his hotel and keeping the hutus at a distance with only a few armed men. its a really good representation of what happened
