got mine today - came with that shitty mighty mouse. But weirdly, no extra cables - my iMac came with a firewire cable and the MacBook Pro had nothing like that

not that ill use it, but the packaging of the mighty mouse is pretty poor as well. Im used to better marketing than that from apple.

I have been working with it on my lap for awhile, its very warm.

Is there a widget somewhere for monitoring temp on these things?

cheers

Probably a dashboard widget for that. Dunno myself.

I know the one we had at my (now ex) work was one that had the battery recall but they chose to ignore that.

It was insanely hot, much hotter than my PowerBook G4 runs at. I'm expecting a warning sticker on the next rev to state, "Contents are hot" ;-)

version tracker - or that link seems to be down atm,
this might do the trick though:
homepage.mac.com/holtman...page5/page5.html
with:
macbricol.free.fr/coreduotemp

theres also a widget for it!

I had the opportunity to test a MacBook right when they were released. Went to Apple Switzerlands press meeting for a mag and was able to get a loaner for a week to test it. It's a really nice machine for everything but gaming, due to the crappy integrated graphics chip. But I also noticed how hot it got. I have a 800MHz G4 iBook personally and that only gets about half as warm as the MacBook got. I guess the Pro isn't any cooler either.

Aye, I haven't played Q3 for at least a year, but I still check by here from time to time, even if I don't write anything:) How's it going for you? Back to the island or still in Belgium?

True, considering dell just released it's quad core boxes... expensive fuckers. I'm sure Apple's will be cheaper and faster considering the first dual core macpros were too
