When I try and buy it it describes the product as "Quake III Arena Jewel Case Only". Jewel cases I have several spare of. It is a CD key I really need. Does anyone know exactly what I do get for my GBP 11.35? A jewel case with sleeve with the artwork plus a CD key? Or just the jewel case with CD key? If the latter, why can't they just email me the CD key?

If I do buy this I would like to burn a new CD to put in it. Is there a nice all-in-one download of Quake I can get somewhere? My understanding is that the point release 1.32 is just a patch and not a full download with all maps, etc. Is that right? Is it possible to get an ISO image of version 1.32c of Q3A, or at least all the files in one nice tidy package?

youd have to ask to make sure, but if its second hand, then u dont know if the cd key has been bant on every server in the world except the Afghan one...
its worth chasing down a full, legit copy then patch up to 1.32b or c

I still see it Quake III Gold once in a while at stores. They are still available.

once you have your quake 3 CD, the only things you'll need to dowload are 1.32 and then 1.32c.

i would venture a guess to say that a quake 3 cd would be included with the jewel case. there's no box, just the cd.

I didn't write before (I thought I had) but I don't want to buy a second hand one for two reasons. Firstly as one guy pointed out you don't know how many times the CD key has been passed around and/or banned from servers, and secondly because I want my money to go to ID software who wrote the game in the first place.

Secondly, several people seem to have missed the point that the website says "JEWEL CASE ONLY" and the main point of my question was that I was unwilling to shell out that kinda cash for an empty CD jewel case.

I'll have a look in a few more game stores (well I only know of one other one) and on Amazon.

Yeah what prince says. Jewel case only means the game dosen't come in a box, it just comes in the jewel case.
