Recieved my Shure E4c today ($300 USD MSRP, paid $172+shipping on eBay, brand new). Holy fuck. Coming from cheapo Sony MDR-A30 sports headphones and the shitty Sony MDR-V700DJ, my friend let me try his Etymotic ER-4 and I was fucking amazed. They sounded a bit lean though, so after reading lots of reviews I decided to go with Shure E4c instead. Jesus Christ, when I'm on the subway I can't hear the train at all. Its only me and my music. It sounds perfect. Very nice groove with the Shure's, I'm really glad I chose them over the Etymotics.
Anyway, if you like music, get IEM's like the Shure E4c (if thats all you can afford, otherwise go with the E5c) or the Etymotic ER-4. This is really worth the buck, christ, listen to Radiohead with this is astonishing.

People who don't like Radiohead don't understand music that well.

I can understand Memphis, I don't know how people listen to Radiohead and stay in a good mood. It's like a tranquilizer.

Its great, when I walk around university or take the subway (like I said) I can't hear
any outside noise. I'm alone with the music.

Why do I think that TB got scammed on Ebay and is too ignorant to know? Is it my uncanny grasp on reality, or M I JELLUZ?

The Shure E4C's are really nice portable phones. I use em on the bus to drown out all the chavs talking about how they fucked some 12 year old, got her pregnant, then punched her in the cunt to abort it.
I thought the bass response was quite weak initially, but after repeated use you'll find its really smooth. Just make sure you put them in your ears properly, and use the foam tips.

I don't get a good seal with the foam tips, therefore I get absolutely no bass response using them. For me, the medium PVC tips provide decent seal and the 3-flange tips provide the best seal. I think the bass response is very good, better than the Etymotic ER-4's for sure, maybe you're just not getting a good seal.
