Hello my friend.
Do you live with an autistic child?
I hope not or I hope you have a great great patience, understanding.
My girl friend's daughter is almost 18YO but with a brain
(analyzed by the experts in that field) of a 2 to 3 YO child.
So, imagine what a 2 to 3YO child can do by himself...
She doesn't want to brush her teeth by herself.
She has a kind of phobia about washing her hands,
we have to force her to wash her hands and she is shrieking
as if someone was violating her, same with brushing her hair.
If she try to get dress by herself, she doesn't only mix colors but
will put her pants backward even her socks with the hill
on top of her feet. Shoes on wrong foot...
In the morning when her mother wake her up, she start yelling
and could last till the bus arrive eg 1HR long.
Some morning she doesn't want to eat anything not even drinking.
Other mornings, specially if we have some pizza left over, she
will explorate the fridge to find it and eat it all.
She can take spaghetti, olives, pikles,cheese...pizza, cake, with juice, soda, milk, all over the table for breakfast.
Once everything is on the table and that her mother has reheat it,
She goes back to her bedroom, sometimes not having touch a thing of it all.
Imagine also, she is a lady. She can't wipe her butt, her mother has to do it, as bathing her, so when she is mentruate it's the same thing. She didn't want to wear her kotex...I found a solution...
Now she wears a diaper. It works so good that even when she is not menstruate she still want to wear one.
When she want to see her sister, she says something like nany nany
nany maison, she keep saying it for hundred of times without stopping except for a few loud yelling from time to time.
And you don't want to see her when she is mad. She tear up everything around, her clothes, towel, shower curtain...
When I met my girl friend, she showed me a full boxe with broken
head phone and walkman...That was only from the past 6 months.
I found a solution, Wireless head phone, Because she used to brake the cable mostly.
She knows around 50 words that she can't pronounce correctly.
For her, cold or hot is only hot, down an up is up.
Everything that make noise is a car even a lawnmower.
I'll finish on a positive note. She is good with puzzles, she
has a high visual capability. She has like 500+ figurines in
her bedroom. We had to move the bedroom around and we put them all in boxes, when she arrived from school, she replaced
them all within 15 minutes in the exact same place. She will
notice right away if there is one missing.
Well I'll stop for now.
For your interest, there are plenty of sites on the web, just Google.
Here is one from her school and the other from a google search.
