i think it's fake, he hides his left arm very well up untill his injury.
EDIT: i just watched it again and forget that, you see it in the first shot
EDIT2: it's in the back of his arm, which you dont see in the first shot, could still be fake.

The throwing looks pretty staged, but then again if you look at the arm it looks real.
Also they would of used a lot of blood but there wasn't any and it looked pretty real, also the reactions seemed real.
