Qeradiant, Worldcraft, and Quark I think were the most used editors. As for the rest, been too long. Don't really remember. But I don't think there was any caulk. There was some other method IIRC.

1) GtkRadiant 1.5.0 now supports Q1, Q2, Half-Life, Q3-engine games, Doom3.
4) Think there was a program called Wally or something.
5) Just add more point lights. Couldn't do much more than that.

I knew about Q2, but didn't know about Q1. Guess it's been a while since I upgraded. :icon30: Never tried mapping for Q1, I think I'll give it a shot now.

I still think Worldcraft was a MUCH better editor than any of the modern day gtk programs. It was so much more intuitive... and don't give me that "gtk is free so don't complain" line because Worldcraft was free too and much easier to use.
I think I'd still be level editing if the editors of today were as easy to use as Worldcraft. Ahh I long for the days of past.

There is a sticky over at Map-Center in the Quake I & II editting forum. Has everything thing you are asking for. And from that thread they say you can use Gtk1.4.0.......

I think worldcraft is horrible, super slow and unintuitive.

Are you serious? I never used worldcraft, but I've used hammer....and while it's a great editor, it's nowhere near as intuitive or easy to use as GTKradiant (1.4.0 is what I still use..) just IMO anyways.

worldcraft is crap imho - way to many menus; i like the simpleness of radiant with all its shortcuts.
worldcraft might have an easier learning curve but ...
