latest forceware annoyences...

i recently installed the forceware 91.31 drivers for my 6600gt pcie, and now everytime i reboot I get a windows balloon saying that SLI has been disabled because I probably removed the second vid card.
obviously, i never had SLI to begin with :icon33:
also, the nvidia systemtray icon keeps popping back after reboots even though I specifically disabled it in the control panel.
is there something I'm missing?.. did someone else stumble upon the same problem? .. moron alert?????

hehe, i just bought a new video card today after retiring my half dead geforce2 GTS (32MB)
bought a 6200 ($30 after rebates) and it's great for what i need.
NEWAY - i ran across the same SLI balloon you did. i just ignored it, but sure would like to know what the scoop is on that.

Yeah really. Because you know so much../
Only gripe with 91.31s is that multiple GIFs on a site (Ytmnd ammounts not just a few smiles) Seem to lag unless the target window is your browser.. Beyond that, the drivers are fine.

Yes, exactly the same problem. I rolled back until I figure out what it is, or new drivers.

Seems to be happening on series 6 cards. There may be something to this. Maybe idiot noobs have nothing to do with it.

Just buy another 6600gt... problem solved and better performance to boot! :icon25:
I don't have a SLi board so I could be way off, but maybe a BIOS setting?

Have you tried disabling it in the registry? That usually works for me.

I don't have an SLI board either and I get the same thing. No, nothing in the BIOS.
You shouldn't have to disable it in the registry.

Currently the only way to disable it is registry. They said they will disable it or make it a 1 time thing next driver release

So it is an issue after all.

Since there were no benefits to me from these drivers, I'll wait until it's resolved.

Well, login is more what I mean. I have three accounts on this one and we're in and out a lot.
