I have the DVD as well. I saw them on that tour in the US and it was a great show.

The DVD is 4:3 aspect since it was always meant as a direct to video release I suppose. They make up for it though with the 5.1 surround. Floyd have been using a quadraphonic sound system for their shows and it plays nicely for DVD.

As far as extras, a few more songs, the original Music Videos, the actual films used on stage. There are even 'bootlegs of bootlegs' where they take some of the good bootleg video out there and put it on the DVDs.

All in all a good show and set. I hope they release 'A Delicate Sound of Thunder' on DVD next.

I was there. I don't know if the concert I was at (Venice, Italy - summer of 93 or 94 - i forget which now) had any of the DVD footage shot at it (there were cameras though), but it was an amazing experience.

Yeah, he's got a practically unreproducible setup, but I figure I can get close with pickups and some basic pedal combinations. I've just ordered a complete EMG-SA pickup set for my strat with the EXG and SPC tone modeling pots instead of regular tone knobs. That's the first step in getting that crisp sound of his, but overall I'll be limited by budget and such for the rest. I've got several overdrive effects that currently do a decent job at getting a smooth Gilmour-like tone, and I'm hoping the EMGs will do a solid job a boosting the sustain and fatness of the floyd sound instead of having a sharper, more twangy, country-like sound.

This was the one in London, shot in '94. I'd have loved to see them live. Lets hope they can arrange something in the US, someday...maybe...

that makes them sound real alive and responsive.

about 1/3 vol up on the guitar neck pickup and the amp cranked with the treble down.

Actually, his rig is exactly what I described. My strat is made of ash wood, so it'll be slightly brighter than gilmour's american which is made of mahogany, I believe. The electronics will be identical, however. Gilmour uses the EMG-SA set with the EXG and SPC.

The Venice concert was fucking amazing, though I've only seen it on TV. I remember they aired it all live - and I was a bit jellus, because that one gig where I have seen them was pretty fucked up from the sound and mixing

Yeah I saw the Venice gig on TV. We still have it taped somewhere. Should put it on DVD some time.

I saw this a couple of years ago. I don't remember all of it, but the plane that crashes into the stage was phenomenal.
Comfortably Numb was pretty good, too.

I enjoyed the video, which says a lot, as I'm not really a Pink Floyd fan.

very good sounding single coils arnt the easiest thing to locate tho , cause if they were, everybody would have that tone ey
