yeah... read it a while ago on spiegel.de
- actually it's understandable out of microsofts perspective. but i dont see why they are actually trying to establish their own music codec; mp3 seems to be fine and as it's a common standard, why change?

I don't care if they're pushing WMV, but MS needs to step up with a competitive product. They're missing a golden opportunity to step into another market.

its crazy people just want to go down in quality with tunes .

i'd would be a little better if they were ripped from 24 bit 192 khz tho

And it'll probably own, but two years is a long time. I preordered an iPod shuffle today because I'm sick of waiting.

Meh, they usually improve on a product at the same time but you're right. Evil empires make for networks that are more enjoyable to administer though so I'm all for 'em.

If MS got in on it, it would make ipods/other mp3 players cheaper, especially if MS did a good job. Bring it on

It will do the trick. Probably a few hours a day listening time and the lack of LCD or options don't matter to me. Hell, at home on my PC I just kick up a genre-based playlist and let it run on shuffle without checking the artist
