Yeah they're being a tad stupid, it's fucking ugly too, why does it need "Super Shuffle" written on it in big letters? It's about as aesthetically appealing as writing "CHEAPO APPLE CLONE" on it.

Hmm, by the time they've lost the inevitable lawsuit they got some media attention an advertising budget couldn't buy.

"Legal options"?

as in: "Someone made a mp3 player in the same shape as ours and we're not happy about it", or what?

Balls. Big, sweaty, hangin-in-your-face balls.

That's what they've got.

I think they're just following the Chinese business model.

Apple exec: "Hey! You stole our product!"

Chinese exec: "No we didn't."

Apple: "Yes you did! It even says 'Apple' on the front!"

China: "Ahh, look closer it says 'Rapple'."

Apple: "But..but...HEY! NOW YOU'RE SODOMIZING MY MOTHER!"

China: "No I'm not."

Saw this yesterday and am still laughing about it. They pulled it off the display at CeBIT on Friday after discussions with a rep from Apple, but promptly put it back out on the floor on the busiest day of Saturday.

Seems like these guys are not caring too much about Apple's feelings. Check out their posters at CeBIT.

Wow. I'm curious how long it will be before Apple's lawyers own them into bankruptcy.

Except that China doesn't recognize international patents or copyrights.

But wouldn't a store in any county that does recognize copyrights not be allowed to sell it?

It'll show up in those cheap chinese electronics stores with all the fluorescent paint in the windows.

You mean a US store in China for example? Probably not, but I think this sort of thing is hard to regulate over there. The Chinese dabble in alot of intellectual property theft.
