Quake II question

I want to play Quake II as multiplayer, but I don't know how to access a server.
Who can help me?

you might want to check out the ID Legends forum. they know all there is to know about the older id games

in the main meanu hit geme>multiplayer>join server
enetr the server ip's in the address book
here is where you find the sever ip's
http://www.tastyspleen.net
click on sever status for the addresses. you can enter them as
http://www.tastyspleen.net:27910

But after I entered the ip address what then. Do I have to enter the F9 button or what?

After you enter the ip in your address book hit enter, then escape, so you can get back to the screen that says "Refresh List"
Select "Refresh" and then the server should pop up on the list below. Use the arrow keys to highlight the server and just hit enter.
Another option would be to download Gamespy or The All Seeing eye.
