we don't know yet. all we know is: their beards/costumes are fake, and they carry US army knives

hopefully it'll all be explained in the season finale tomorrow night (or in however many weeks time if you watch on TV outside the US)

I personally think they are the ones controlling the island. The island is just a huge experiment and the others are controlling the experiment. Just my therory...

Its clearly an experiment of sorts, but is it one that got shut down and went wrong? Is it an old one that became active again and mistakingly captured new people? There are a bunch of possibilities.

I fully expect there to be no pay-off whatsoever from Lost. It's garbage.

Interesting as it may be in small chunks, it doesn't seem to be heading anywhere. In contrast to Lord of the Flies, where the story was a unit and could be shown to have meaning, this Lost storyline seems just to be a story for the sake of a television program.

Ok, what the fuck just happened.

Why is Desmin's chick now such a huge part of the story. She has to be if the season finale ended with her. I'm thinking her father set this whole island thing up just to get him the hell out of there. But what the hell were those dudes in the winter wonder land tracking? And why the hell do they have to be in that arctic place to track it? Clearly Desmin is still alive. And Lock is too major of a character to be killed in the magnetic blast. Too many questions...

Widmore is supposedly a construction magnate and was likely contracted to build the Dharma Initiative's test facility. Since Penny is Widmore's daughter she likely found out that Dharma was experimenting with electromagnetism.
The reason that the guys were in an arctic place is because Antarctica is damn close to Australia and covers a large chunk of the Pacific Ocean, which is where the Lost-people crashed.

Well, at least now we know everything there is to know about the hatch itself.

Lost is in limbo.... there is an army of great writers contributing and fans of the show writing under psudonyms. This show owes us a proper ending like any great english progam taht knows when to end.

They owed us an ending in season 2...

Season 3 better fuck us up royally..or this show is over.

Or It 's merely Media-hyped/Raped and left for dead like a christmas tree on new years that never got picked up, we just get to watch it turn brown slowly.
