Question about ebay

If I win a bid at a low price is the seller obligated to give me that item for that price?

For example, the current bid for the item I'm looking for is $167, now if I win this item with lets say $170? The seller also offers "buy it now" for the price of $210.

Will I get the item for $170 or can the person deny it?

I never used ebay before so I have no idea.

Also is shipping from US to Canada smart? Do you get taxed at the border or any other fees you have to pay? The seller says it's only $25 and the insurance is only $2. Is that all I have to pay?

You will get your product, or the seller will get a bad feedback from you.

If there is a reserve, and that price isn't met by the end of the auction, then the item is not won.

even if you won it for $1 if they have no reserve price, they have to give it to you for the winning bid price.

Good to know, thanks. :)

What about shipping from US to Canada? Good idea or bad idea?

it depends on what the sellers shipping preferences are

usually at the bottom of the page

witch always makes me think "why the fuck even put a reserve? why not just start the bidding at the price you set as the reserve?"

That won't entice buyers, also I don't think buyers like reserve prices.

Yes, I don't know the rules exactly but sometimes there are extra charges that are added.

IIRC there's no extra taxes on second hand sales.

I'm selling my Steel Battalion on ebay right now. Was going to trade it in at Gamestop, but those fuckers would give me 40 bucks for it, and they sell them use for 120. I really don't give a fuck how much I get for it (I would have sold it to a friend for 40 bucks ), but I can't stand letting those douchebags make that much profit off the fucker.

I have a serious fuck up with ebay, they are starting to piss me off. I had an account there but forgot my password and whatever fake details I entered at the time (I registered this account ages ago) so I tried to get the password but it asks me for all the details, which I can't remember. So I contact then and they told to make a new account, they couldn't just send me the password to my email. :dork:

So I was like okay fine, I'll reregister. So I do all the crap then there is 3 ways to verify isp email, regular mail & credit card.

My credit card expired recently and I used my isp email already, so it didn't let me use it again. So I'm like fine, i'll use the stupid mail verify.

I go to the mail info verify fill all the details and click next, it gives me an error about my email. I was like WTF! There is no email option on that page. I'm mad as hell, I go into their stupid live chat crap and tell them the problem. The retards suggest I try a different browser or tell me isp?

Finally I figured out these morons are using hidden tags in the fucking mail form! The email setting is hidden so I resave the page as a html file and make the form field text instead of hidden, finish my sign up and contact them again telling them they need to fix this.

I get another generic response changing my browser, I tell them again that I tried 3 different browsers already IE, Firefox and an Older version of IE on my other computer. Jesus chirst I hate stupid tech support. :icon33:
