but from a professional gamers viewpoint this would seem to slow. i think even if they perfected this technique you could never outperform a player that is using the mouse.

if however they managed to make a gesture-only system that could work ~ but only if it enabled you for very fast controll of a lot of single units at once.
this however would require the game to be build a certain way as it would have to process several commands at the same time - or in a much faster fashion.


another aspect is that verbal commands are NOT a good way to controll a game. actually, when playing it is in most cases best to avoid even thinking verbally if you are aiming to give a good performance. issuing orders according to language processing in the brain is just to slow.
just imagine you'd be thinking
"w w a d d s d d d d w d" while playing quake

Nope, that's WC3. You can tell immediately by the toolbar being on the bottom (was on the left in WC2).

Also, there's the case of it being completely 3D.
