Interesting... but.. emotions?
Can't say I really "felt" anything throughout it, apart from just wanting to know what happened. To be honest, the closing words of the film (and the closing music) made me feel slgihtly amused.

Well, that was amusing. I've bookmarked the link to peruse some of the other films later. Nice find. :icon14:

well i originally titled the thread:

execellent short film - (six shooter) and i got like 1 or 2 replies.

so thought this emotion tack would work better.

but yea i felt slight amusement at end also - though there were a range in between.

and emotions are almost always involved in narratives - they're subtle, sometimes even covert, but there nonetheless.

emotions don't have to involve lumps in throat, or startle reflexes. They can be very subtle.

Part of the experience of watching a good movie, reading a good book, listening to a good story, etc, is "surfing" the emotional narrative.

Lemme give u examples of emotions i experienced during "six shooter"

slight sympathy at start (didn't know the character that well so not too much identification).

Bit of wtfness when doctor talks about other case.

humour when boy starts babbling on.

Shock when boy reacts to news of the couple's tragedy.

sympathy when main actor almost starts blubbering during recounting of his own loss

awesome tension/humour when u hear the cow story

tension/fear when he's leaving the train - you expect the young kid to say something shocking that would ruin the moment.

etc. etc. etc. goes on and on.

OK, I'll bite.

The emotions were too subtle for me to notice, in that case. I've seen so many videos that I wasn't surprised at any of it. I'd smirk here and there, but other than that, I was kind of bored while I watched it. I kept watching it just for the sake of seeing whjat happened next and because one of my pet peeves is not watching a movie all the way through.
