I hope I'm not downloading some kind of joke here.

EDIT:

I recommend downloading the torrent from Ausgamers, as all the other servers are either "Subscribers get decent d/l rates and everyone else is fucked" or "Ooops sorry for interrupting your download halfway and no you can't resume".

I don't think fileplanet would host it if it was a joke. VoodooExtreme.com has some screens of the demo up also, and said he was impressed with it.

I'll let you know for sure. It's at 180megs (out of 0.5 gig) at the moment and 12 minutes left on the download.

In this case, it's shit in all time periods, in all possible worlds.

I got it from FileShack. It was capped at 500KB/s and took about 17 minutes to download. I probably won't try it till tomorrow. My PC is just slightly better than the minimum requirements, so I don't have any high hopes for it anyway

My computer ran it buttery smooth with all the bells and whistles turned on. Mine isn’t top of the line but it’s not too far behind either. It’s a 6800 GT 256 and an AMD 3200+ 64-bit with 1.5 gigs of DDR 400 memory.

They did great with the game. I got to the end of the demo and was wishing it wasn’t over. Feels nothing like the other Tomb Raider games, but the theme is still very well in tact. I’m going to be getting this one for sure.

OK I got tempted and installed it :p Sure I don't get to see the DX9 features, but I have to say it's actually running quite well on my comp even at 1024x768 :D I have everything turned on in the renderer settings except vsync and anti-aliasing (next-gen content is grayed out).

I haven't completed it yet; just trying to get used to the controls, which seem quite different from the earlier TR games on the console, but so far so good :p

I just hope the PS2 version will be good, because if I end up getting this, that'll be the version I get. I prefer to play this type of game on the console with a controller :p

The PS2 version... Says nothing... Its about the gameplay after all, not about them turning everything down or off ;)

*cough*

Anyways, I'll be buying this for 360, because these games feel much much better on a console. I like the look and direction of the new tomb raider. Sure its not amazingly next gen or anything, but if they really have given us a more flexable control, i dont care.

Can anybody explain why "Next Generation Content" is greyed out on my 7600GT?

Besides that I didn't think it look very good and I didn't see any difference to the other Tomb Raider games I've played either. (ie Tomb Raider 1) Jump, jump, shoot.

Hmmm thats an odd one, i haven't actually downloaded it yet so i cant say if it does that here, but Tomb Raider even at highest settings isn't all that compared to whats out now. I mean it has bloom and... erm... Well thats all. So you should be able to do it if your card supports pixel shaders, which is clearly does.

As for the gameplay, the controls are whats different now. Instead of having the old boxy, glitchey crap movement you now play much like your did in prince of persia, i.e., you see a ledge, grab it.

No, now they are made from curvier, nicer looking tris, but with the same old repeating textures :(

Next-gen mode makes it look like doom 3, but with barbie dolls

Apparently the third movie is awating production until they see how well this game sells. If it sells like crap they won't release the movie. I hope they do, the first 2 wheren't that bad imo?
