I got Quake 3 gold for 10$ today and I must admit, this expansion is pretty kick ass. I love the overload game mode plus the terrain maps are pure fun. I haven't tried regular ctf maps yet but I will soon. I didn't get a chance to play the ice terrain map because it crashes everytime I try to play it. Anyone else love this mission pack too?

It's ok, but zero people play it online anymore.

Team arena came out later than the version that we all love and cherished (quake 3 arena) so not many people played it online back then and hardly anyone today.

Well, no suprise that INIMINI's server is nowhere to be seen.

caught the arse end of team arena's popularity, back when jolt had a TA server that was almost always full. didn't feel very balanced, but it was a lot of fun.

I have changed it to F4a Railgun CTF,a InstaUnlagged DM and a InstaUnlagged 1on1 server,so check it out you folks.

i liked q3f a thousand times better than TA.

I remember really looking forward to Team Arena, then being really dissapointed when I bought it.

the only thing a tiny bit better about TA is that the graphics are just a lil bit better...i find q3a alot funner then TA myself..

I loved Team Arena. I thought it was awesome. Didn't see what was so unbalanced about it. The powerups may not have been the best thing ever, but IMO they were miles better than the classic CTF powerups, which could all be hoarded by one single team.

It's just a shame that TA got pooped out because people thought it was too expensive. Quality wise, TA was top notch. It had some great gametypes and some fantastic maps to play on.

Vortex Portal (mpteam6) was pure fun. Scornforge (mpteam4) was IMO one of the best CTF maps ever. Overdose (mpterra1) was brilliant as well, although a bit much of a railing fest sometimes. If teams got big enough Distant Screams (mpterra2) was simply awesome.

I loved the Kamikaze powerup as well.

All in all, TA might not have been much for the competitive players (although there's some great maps for competitive play) but for the sheer fun factor it's great. It's such a bummer that barely anyone played it.

I used to play a lot of TA back in the day. Before the jolt servers, even. Good times. There were a bunch of clans, I was in TRK.

I was on dialup, so I played offline as much if not more. I don't think I've ever played a game as much as TA.

There might not be many players these days but maybe if we set up a regular time to take over a server, say weekly or monthly, then we could get some TAers together.

What's that TA map with the two really huge and complex castles with the underground water tunnels? That map was totally incredible, and I don't know why it hasn't been ported to OSP servers.

Because it took Paul_Jaquays 2 years to complete.

We need to get people playing TA online again, because I want to play some people.


Plus, a better browser for Q3A's multiplayer would be nice.

I just picked up Q3 Gold for $10 from China-Mart. The mpterra maps look really nice. Is anyone organizing a game or two?

Im in doubt to make a Team arena server again,but are there any people who play it and whats the most wanted GAMETYPE?

(was running last 2 weeks Enemy Territory,but thats a complete waste of time)

Team Arena kicks more ass than that in my opinion.

i have serverwise room for 20 people,so do i make a team arena server with max 20 or 1 team arena server with max 16 and a Railgun server again?

If you really want to play it for a little bit make a new thread when you get the server running and everytime you want to play, make a new post. I will play for a little bit, if only for nostalgias sake.

I don't see a whole lot of people joining anyway.
